Instruction/Choreography

Taylor Mitchell is internationally-recognized dance educator, specializing in techniques of American Jazz, Contemporary, and Modern Dance. Throughout Germany and Italy, he has assisted his mentor, Sam Watson, in over 60 hours of jazz technique classes and has developed teaching relationships in Stuttgart, Winnenden, Berlin, Vienna, and Kiel. Taylor is well known for his high-energy teaching style with a focus on improving skills through technique, expanded movement vocabulary, and performance quality. He believes in holding each student accountable in work ethic, consistency, and energy management while encouraging each artist to establish their unique individuality through movement research. 

Taylor’s pre-professional studio choreography is nationally known for its upbeat, playful, and often humorous quality. In 2018 his work, “Rush Hour”, was nominated for “Choreography of the Year” at The Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles. Taylor’s choreography has also received “Gala Status” at multiple Regional Dance America Festivals and has been recognized at festivals, competitions, and conventions. His choreography has won numerous regional awards at competitions throughout Louisiana, Arizona, Texas, California, Illinois, Mississippi, and New Mexico as well as national awards at West Coast Dance Explosion. Each new season, Taylor looks forward to developing fresh and exciting creations with young and gifted dancers across North America.
